Edoardo Gastaldi

Edoardo Gastaldi, class 1998, is an Award-nominated Modern Classical and Post-Classical Music Composer based in Venice, Italy.

After several years of music studies, which provided him formal training ranging from Classical piano to music theory, in the summer of 2021, he started publishing his compositions and productions.

The influence of 17th-19th century pianists and his passion for experimentation led his music to become an ever-evolving equilibrium among Modern Classical, Ambient, and Post-Rock Music. The gloomy, distant harmonic sound layers are often held together and brightened by leading instruments such as the piano and guitars.

He is actively involved in several collateral projects such as Charity Albums, Art and Poetry initiatives, Music Curation programs, Live music activities, etc.

His creations are inspired by the sounds of contemporary artists such as Johan Söderqvist, Hammock, Tony Anderson, Leonard Petersen, Atli Örvarsson, Stephen Porter, Ronit Kirchman, Sigur Rós and Nils Frahm.

“Tombstones, Traditions, and the Story in Our Lives” is aimed as a moody ambient soundtrack that
seals the conceptualization of those rules, the society, the people… and the story in our lives.

Those buildings, tombstones, traditions, and dreams.
These do not exist forever. They are dust in the universe, fear of the wind, and also… Silence.

We imagine people always before our eyes. We hope things last forever. Because everything we do
has a single meaning: to distance ourselves from our fears - and from our end.
But things are not meant to stay. We eventually part with people and places.
And our task is to
appreciate the tragic beauty of the sensitivity to ephemera.

Realignments EP

After tough and dense months, filled with crest and troughs, Edoardo and Davide decide to meet up in person for a Music Festival that hosted them as artists.
The time spent together helped both to regain a sense of place and meaning.

The two artists seized the moment of inspiration and teamed up to record a small EP consisting of two solo-piano improvisations written in four hands.
