Ashes — or the story of a surprise, a musical one. Ashes began as a commission for a fantasy short film, which later turned out to be an elaborately constructed scam. From that unexpected situation, an independent work emerged. It tells the story of a knight entering a gothic castle, in a dreamlike world, in search of his beloved. Yet without battle, without even raising his sword, he is doomed to never find her: the moment he touches her, she turns back into ashes. Ashes is the story of the dream of a love that cannot exist.
