Roberto Ventimiglia & Anna Scheller - MANTRA FOR SOLO HARP - OUT NOW: https://sirilrecords.ffm.to/mantraforsoloharp
"According to several definitions including dictionaries, a mantra is ‘a word or sound that is believed to have a special spiritual power’: take it either as an aid to meditation or a kind of prayer-like activity, a mantra is therefore considered as something generally coming from the East and able to foster wellness through its repetition. Moreover, I’ve always loved the works of the so-called minimalist masters, and it’s not by chance if some of them have something to do with Eastern spirituality, is it? Speaking for me, and far from simply wanting to remake something already belonging to music history, I meant to describe a process of transformation through (and within) repetition with sound and musical dramaturgy; in fact, the slower tempo towards the end of the piece stands for a quieter state of mind achieved due to the change of scenery represented by a contrasting middle section." (Roberto Ventimiglia)
