Can one be alone when surrounded by many? Can we be alone together?

A homeless man on a bench, in the middle of a cavalcade of cars, is sleeping. He is alone, with us. And life passes, the cars pass… This image also appears on the album cover: blurred, distant, almost fading away.

The Solitudes seeks to capture this societal feeling: a life lived crowded among others, a life spent within a family, yet still experienced in solitude.

The album was recorded by Charmey on his 1940s Swiss felt piano, accompanied by the voice of Ildi Ferencz and the subtle textures of the DSI Prophet synthesizer. (Charmey)
