Back in 2023, on my album Kaamos, I released a track called Memento Mori. It was one of the core pieces of that record, carrying the weight of impermanence and the reminder that everything eventually fades.

Memento Amoris is built on the very same foundation, but it’s been transformed, its harmony reshaped, its spirit lifted. Where Memento Mori reflected on death, this version turns toward light. It’s the same music, but seen through a different lens: one that asks us not just to remember that life ends, but to remember that love endures.

The phrase Memento Amoris means “Remember love.” For me, it’s a reminder to hold onto what truly lasts, even when everything else slips away.

There’s a line from the 1994 film The Crow that captures this better than I ever could: "If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever."
